Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) Ambassador Program

The primary goal of the Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) Ambassador Program is to broaden participation in Earth system science research by proactively engaging underrepresented students, staff, and faculty across the NSF NCAR member community and beyond. RAL staff are trained and empowered to serve as Ambassadors who engaged with selected MSIs to build meaningful, intentional, and mutually respectful relationships with students and faculty, promote collaboration opportunities, give briefings and guest lectures, and actively listen to and gather feedback on the needs and interests of MSI faculty and students. The institutions are visited virtually and in-person to build trust and deepen relationships.
