NCAR scientists developed a machine learning model to update forest fuel maps quickly and accurately, providing significant improvements to wildfire forecasts that could aid in evacuation and fire rescue efforts. The research was led by Amy DeCastro and Timothy Juliano of RAL with visualizations by Scott Pearse of CISL.
