Excellence in Leadership Award

Bill Mahoney embodies excellence in leadership and applied this talent to improve the culture within RAL, empower his staff members, plan strategically, and execute tactically to produce results, and promote science in service to society within and beyond UCAR. As Director of RAL from 2018-2023, Bill oversaw the transformation of RAL from formerly autonomous programs to a highly collaborative laboratory. This culture of  interconnectivity further inspired its employees to produce fascinating and purposeful science.
