Sisi Chen won the AMS STAC Outstanding Early Career Scientist award from the Committee on Planned and Inadvertent Weather Modification for the development and application of novel modeling techniques to study and advance cloud seeding and cloud physics research. This award is for an individual early in their career who has made significant contributions to the discipline and is on a path to becoming a science leader in the community.

The AMS STAC Committee on Planned and Inadvertent Weather Modification aims to promote research, foster the transfer of knowledge and provide expertise on all areas of weather modification. 

The American Meteorological Society (AMS) Scientific and Technological Activities Commission (STAC) is responsible to the Society and the Council for:
