About

The Solid Precipitation Intercomparison Experiment (SPICE) was a three year WMO sponsored project with participation from 15 countries.  The goal of the experiment was to help understand the undercatch of weighing snowgauges and develop correction factors based on snowgauge/shield combinations.   This seminar will discuss the approach, data collected, and the results and likely future research directions.  In addition, results from Computation Fluid Dynamical (CFD) simulations will be presented in an attempt to understand the physical processes leading to the observed undercatch.
