About

WRF-Fire tutorials are a great way to learn about the model's capabilities and how to implement it for your purposes, with the opportunity to network with others in related fields.

The next tutorial will be hosted over three days, September 20, 22, and 24, 2021 (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) with supported discussion in the morning, independent learning mid-day, and examples and discussion in the afternoons. Participants will be provided all necessary materials, instruction, and compute time to run a case study simulation, and are encouraged to be virtually present during the morning and afternoon sessions (a total of three hours each day). The tutorial will cover the basics of setting up and running WRF-Fire, as well as additional topics including implementing heterogenous fuel moisture content values across the domain; model assessment and visualization; and modifying the fuel input layer.
