Since 2020, Curtis has mentored students and postdocs, offering technical expertise, career guidance, and encouragement that shaped their professional trajectories. He spearheaded the Emerging Research Institutions Ambassador Program, strengthened NCAR's partnership with Howard University, and co-designed national training resources through the AMS Mind the Gap Initiative.
