STEP Annual Workshop: Predictability and Prediction of Weather Related Hazards

This virtual workshop is sponsored by the cross-lab STEP program. The workshop is open to all NCAR staff and no registration is required. The main objective of the workshop is to identify new areas and opportunities for cross-lab collaborations to enhance the hazardous weather research at NCAR. The workshop will consist of the following four topics:

• Toward integrated convection-permitting modeling 
• Machine learning applications in hazardous weather prediction
• Predictability of convective weather systems and their associated hazards
• Hazard prediction via coupled modeling    

Invited presentations will be given by NCAR STEP scientists, other NCAR scientists, and two external invitees. Break-out group discussions are scheduled following each of the four topics.
